Strawberry Sauce


The fancy word is coulis

Ingredients

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • ~14 cup sugar
  • splash balsamic vinegar
  • ~2 tbsp water

Thickener

  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 2 tbsp cold water

Method

  • Wash and hull strawberries
  • Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan
  • Bring liquid and whole strawberries to a boil on medium heat
  • Cover, turn heat to low, and cook for ~15 mins
  • Whisk in thickener
  • As soon as the mixture thickens slightly, turn off heat
  • Blend until very smooth
